How can you check that B2B contact data is valid?

If your data comes from DataJi that’s easy.

When DataJi delivers your B2B contact data, you receive access to it through our PitchKraft portal. Each and every contact shows three visible quality checks: Employment Match, Target Audience Match and Data Integrity Check. We call them ‘Validity Evidence Fields’.

Next to every contact is a score showing the results of the checks for that individual contact, including supporting sources that you can click on and see actual evidence to show that the contact still works at the same organization, has the same job title, matches your brief and every data field is accurate.

Three questions behind every contact

01 · Employment Match

Does this person still work there in that role?

02 · Target Audience Match

Do the company and role match your brief?

03 · Data Integrity Check

Is the record complete and consistent?

What does verified B2B contact data mean?

For DataJi, verification means checking the person, their employment, their relevance to your brief and the quality of their contact record. Email validation is also part of the wider process.

These checks answer different questions. A working email address can belong to someone whose role has changed. A correctly recorded job title may sit within a company you have excluded. A relevant decision-maker can still have an incomplete or inconsistent record.

The portal makes these distinctions visible, so you can understand the assessment behind each contact.

1 – Employment Match: do they still work there?

Employment Match checks current public evidence to assess whether the person still works at the stated company and whether their role remains consistent with the supplied record.

Open the information icon beside the score to see the explanation and available supporting sources. In the example below, the illustrative assessment refers to company website, LinkedIn and Instagram evidence that the contact remains Director Clinic Operations at Scripps Health. It also displays a check date and source links.

Why it matters: people move companies and change responsibilities. Being able to inspect the evidence helps you decide whether the record still represents the person you want to reach.

The assessment reflects the evidence available when the check was performed. The date and explanation provide context for the result.

2 – Target Audience Match: the right contact for your brief?

Target Audience Match assesses each contact against your saved targeting brief. It considers both the organisation and the individual’s role.

  • Company fit: does the organisation meet the relevant industry, location and other company criteria in your brief?
  • Role fit: does the person’s job title or function meet your targeting requirements?

The example below shows “Company: YES | Role: YES”. The explanation identifies the organisation as a multi-hospital health system offering the relevant services and notes that “Director of Operations” is explicitly included in the brief.

Why it matters: an accurate contact only becomes useful when they are relevant to your campaign. You can see the reasoning behind that match and check it against the audience you asked us to supply.

3 – Data Integrity Check: is every detail accurate?

Data Integrity Check examines the record itself for missing fields, generic or malformed email addresses, problems in names and titles, website and email-domain mismatches, and duplicates.

The example below explains that the record is complete and structurally consistent: the email is named, correctly formatted and uses a business domain, while the company, name, title and location are properly formatted.

Data Integrity Check: review the quality and consistency of the contact record.

Why it matters: errors within a record can create extra work when you import, segment or personalise your outreach. This check helps identify those issues before you use the data.

Data Integrity Check is a record-quality assessment. It does not itself prove that a mailbox can receive email; email verification is a separate part of the wider validation process.

Check the evidence behind every contact

A list of 5,000 contacts should give you 5,000 records you can inspect.

In PitchKraft, the scores sit alongside the contacts they describe. Open an individual result to review the explanation, the displayed check date and any supporting sources. That gives you a practical way to review what we have delivered and raise questions about a specific record.

We stand behind each contact by showing you how it has been assessed.

What our clients say about our ‘validity evidence fields’

“What keeps us coming back to DataJi is the accuracy of their data. We can see in their portal the actual details of each contact they give us, how the contact fits into our brief and evidence that each contact still works at the same place with the same job function. So we can see that each data point is uptodate.”
